[BIG NEWS] Introducing Just-In-Time Inventory For Podzilla & New Shirts
I've been sitting on this one for a while and I'm thrilled to finally share it with you all. This is hands-down the most exciting upgrade we've made to Podzilla — and I think once you see what it means for your business, you'll agree.
The Big News: We Can Now Carry (Almost) Anything
Here's the problem we've always had: you all have been asking us to carry more styles, more colors, more options. And we wanted to — badly. But warehouse space is finite, and ordering huge amounts of up-front inventory for every style just isn't realistic. So we built something that changes the game entirely!
Introducing our Just-In-Time (JIT) Inventory System.
We can now add styles to our catalog without needing to stock massive quantities in-house. When an order comes in, our system checks real-time inventory from our in-house stock and across our supplier's warehouse network and — if you approve the order by our 10:00 am Eastern Time cutoff — we automatically order those blanks and have them in production the next day. In most cases, those items ship that second day.
Read that again. Real-time inventory. Automatic ordering. In production next day.
"But Wait… Doesn't That Sound Different?"
Yep, it does. And honestly, the more I've learned about the on-demand apparel industry, the more I've realized — this is exactly how the biggest POD providers in the space operate. Those well-known providers you see on Printify? This is why their average production times on apparel are always 2+ days. They're doing the same thing.
The difference? We built a system that givesYOUfull transparency into what's happening. You'll see real-time inventory status right on every order card, so you always know exactly where things stand before you hit approve.
What This Means For You
Let's get specific about why this is huge:
- More styles.Want us to carry the Comfort Colors 6014? Done. The Gildan 64000? Done. Both of those are live right now as you're reading this!
-
More colors. We're no longer limited to stocking a handful of the most popular colors. We can open up ALL available colors from the supplier.
Hello CC 2026 new colors Rose Quartz and Dusk!
- More sizes.Need XS? Need 4XL? If the supplier has it, we can offer it.
- Better group listings. No more making decisions on which model or color to use in a group listing because some provider doesn't offer what you want. Want an all Bella+Canvas group listing from the 100B all the way up to the 3001 so ALL the colors match?Yep, we can do that!
-
New product opportunities. When Comfort Colors drops a new tee or hoodie, we can make it available if enough sellers want it. Want matching sweatpants from Comfort Colors or Gildan on your listings? We could do that, too.
The possibilities here are wide open.
How It Works (The Simple Version)
As you're processing your orders and uploading print files, you'll see a color-coded inventory badge right on each order item — before you ever hit approve:
|
|
In Stock — We have this item in our in-house inventory or it's available at our primary warehouse in Atlanta (next-day delivery to us). |
|
|
In Stock +1 Business Day — Item is available at a regional warehouse. Needs 1 extra day to get to us. |
|
|
In Stock +2 Business Days — Item is shipping from a more distant warehouse. Adds 2 days. |
If you see one of those amber statuses, you'll have the information you need to make a call — approve with us knowing the extended timeline, or route to another provider. That decision is always in your hands.
We've Already Been Testing
We didn't just flip a switch. We've been quietly testing this with a few sellers on limited items to make sure everything was dialed in. To date, we've successfully printed Comfort Colors® sweatshirts, additional colors of Gildan 18000's and Bella+Canvas 3001s, and even XS shirts we don't normally carry. The system works. The flow is solid.
What's Live Right Now
As of this announcement, the following JIT-eligible items are live in your catalog:
- Comfort Colors® 6014 (Heavyweight Long Sleeve)
- Gildan 64000 (Softstyle Tee)
On Friday Feb 5th, we'll be enabling all colors of the styles we already carry like the Comfort Colors® 1717, Gildan18000, and the youth sizes. More items will be added as we go. You'll see the real-time inventory badges on orders for these items immediately.
What's Next: Help Us Help You
Here's where you come in. Our goal through the spring and summer is to gather as much sales data as possible from all of you. The more you sell, the more data we collect — and that data tells us exactly which styles, colors, and sizes to keep stocked in-house in smaller quantities for fast reprints and QC coverage.
As we head into the bigger summer season, we'll stock up on the colors and sizes that matter most. Q4 coming in hot? We'll know exactly what to have on hand to keep the order flow rolling without a hitch.
Your sales literally shape our inventory! The more data we get from you, the better this system works for everyone.
What's Coming
We're building out a Knowledge Base section that covers all the details of how the JIT system works, what the badges mean, and how to read the inventory statuses. Keep an eye out for that.
We'll also schedule a live call soon to walk through everything and answer all your questions. I know there will be plenty, and we want to make sure everyone feels confident with how this works.
If you have questions in the meantime, drop them in Discord so everyone can benefit from the answers.
TL;DR
- We built a just-in-time (JIT) inventory system that lets us add new styles without needing massive upfront inventory.
- Real-time inventory badges on every order card show you exactly what's available.
- Approve by 10 am EasternTime → we auto-order the blanks → in production next day → most items ship day 2.
- Comfort Colors® 6014 and Gildan 64000 are live RIGHT NOW.
- More colors, more sizes, more styles — and this is just the beginning!
- Your sales data drives what we stock, so sell, sell, sell.
- Live call coming soon + new Knowledge Base section on the way.
This is a big deal for all of us. The amount of work that went into the software — both the backend systems and everything you see on the seller side — was massive. But it was worth it because of what it opens up. For us. For you. For your customers.
Let's go!
With Gratitude,
Russ, Cary & The Entire Podzilla Team
